Invisible Icons of 4.95 — fix proposal
The remap proposal for the 92 Atlas-confirmed items whose ItmIcon lies past the 4.95 client's 1,310 Item.epf frames: reference art beside the proposed 4.95 frame for every item, with alternatives, the green_cloak worn-look verdict, the wedding-cloak row, and the open judgment calls. This is the review copy — only the green_cloak remap is applied so far (verified live 2026-08-31); the rest awaits the judgment calls below.
How to read each section: the green-bordered cells are the reference art — the NexusAtlas gif (true hue) and, where the icon id exists in the 5.33 client, that intended sprite (true shape, palette-0 hue). The gold-outlined cell is the proposed 4.95 frame. Icon ids are ItmIcon values (client frame = id + 1), and every cell names the items already drawn from that frame.

How the fix should land (needs a decision)
The 4.95 client has no icon-colour channel and 1,310 frames; the 5.33 client draws icons up to
2302 correctly. The server already splits the two: Session.IconOf sends
ItemDef.ClientIcon to 4.95 and raw ItmIcon to 5.33, and
Content.ResolveIconColors is the existing seam that computes ClientIcon.
- Icons 1310–2302 (rings, charms, orbs, bracelets… — most of this page): the clean fix
is a data file (e.g.
game-data/IconRemap495.csv:ItmId,ClientIcon) folded intoClientIconat load, keepingItmIconuntouched so 5.33 keeps its true art. - Icons ≥ 2303 (diamonds, fox furs, green cloak, gruff ring, the ≥2303 weapons): broken on
both clients — editing
ItmIconinItems.csvdirectly is right for these, and the same remap row keeps 4.95 correct if a later art pack restores them.
green_cloak worn look (#2 on the fix list) — RESOLVED
Applied and verified live 2026-08-31 (local-run cf7d046): with the icon remapped
to 460, both the bag icon and the equipped render work on the 4.95 client — the "doesn't render
when worn" report was fallout from the invisible bag icon, not a look problem. No
ItmLook/ItmLookColor change was needed: 4.95's body.epf has 67
armor bodies and body 14 — green_cloak's ItmLook — is the pale-green
hooded cloak (body 15 is the wedding dress, confirming the id space; sonhi_cloak shares look 14
at colour 3).
Wedding cloak (#3 on the fix list)
Solved: the row exists in the RTK reference database but was never carried into
Items.csv — RTK item #518
wedding_cloak, "Wedding cloak", type 4, Look 72, LookColor 0, Icon 1979, and the reference
tailor.lua sells green_cloak and wedding_cloak side by side (our TailorNpc stock has only
green_cloak). Two of its RTK values don't exist on 4.95, so the proposed row is:

- Icon 453 — the white/cream member of the same 453–467 cloak run (unused; the intended 5.33 sprite for icon 1979 is beside it above).
- Look 14 + LookColor 18 — RTK look 72 is past 4.95's 66-body limit and would clamp to a naked body. Body 14 is the cloak; ramp 18 is the white dye ramp (the convention embroidered_white_great_cloak already uses). Needs an in-game eyeball to confirm the white reads well.
- Everything else copied from the RTK row (AC 30, level 1, 15,000/7,500, break-on-death), plus a TailorNpc ShopStock entry to sell it.
Open questions (the judgment calls)
- Element rings (23 rows): proposed hue map amber→974 gold-sparkle, baekho→244 silver band, chung ryong→240 blue, dark→241 purple, hyun moo→692 dark band, ju jak→242 red, white→975 (matches the already-fixed small_white_ring), yellow→694 gold band. All three sizes of an element share one icon (4.95 simply lacks 24 distinct ring frames). OK, or prefer size-distinct/all-same?
- Diamonds (12 rows): all → 720, the era gem frame every other gem shares — hue distinction lost. The alternative is hue-mapping onto the pearl/amber run (1021–1032), which keeps colour but reads "pearl" and collides with the crafted-amber gems. Which way?
- Wood orb: 4.95 has no green aura-sphere; proposed 771 (tan). Alternative: green spiky pearl 1023, shared with crafted_amber and style-mismatched with its four sphere siblings.
- Nature charm: CSV gives it soul's gold icon; proposed 1012 (teal-green pearl) to keep the six charms distinct. Follow the CSV instead?
- Shared-frame stand-ins: insidious_disk→17 (coal's frame), tuna_wizard_eye→715 (nagnang_compass), noble_tag→247 (kindred_talisman), mystic_buckler→1107 (amber_buckler) — each is the only close shape; flag any that feel wrong.
- IconColor column: after remapping, the stale
ItmIconColorvalues on these rows do nothing on 4.95 and tint unpredictably on 5.33 under the direct-edit path. Zero them on the rows we touch, or leave for a later pass?
